Officer Descriptions
Vice President:This position assists the President. He/she helps the President lead the rest of the board, delegates work, organizes meetings, and brainstorms AGHS ideas for expanding Go to a larger public audience.
Promotion Head: The elected person publicizes tournaments and events. Before the tournament, he/she writes for the E-Journal, posts on Tiger Mouth and Facebook, promotes on KGS, and notifies the general Go playing youth population. After the tournaments, he/shewrites short articles about the tournaments.
Webmaster:This skilled internet user updates and maintains the AGHS website (www.aghs.cc), posts information about tournaments, events, and other information to keep people informed. Coding is done primarily in HTML and PHP.
Tournament Organizer: The tournament organizer constructs the rules and structure of AGHS tournaments. He/She is the main administrator during tournaments and will oversee pairings and volunteers.
Secretary:This position emails and notifies members of tournaments (pairings, results, etc), events, and meetings. He/she responds to questions e-mailed to the AGHS. The secretary also takes notes during meetings to create task lists to help officers stay organized.
Treasurer:The treasurer keeps track of funds and the budget of the AGHS. He/She also orders and organizes tournament prizes. You must be able to order prizes online to be shipped to your house and mail prizes out to apply for this position.
