Who? When?
1 / Welcome, members present and apologies
  • DH reminded meeting that any conflict of interest must be minuted

2 / Approval of minutes of the last meeting and updates
  • Last meeting (Nov) was to organise Christmas Fayre which was a great success.
  • AGM meeting (Oct) led to new core committee.
  • Some matters arising from meeting last June when DR raised the wish list.

3 / Finance Update and Wish List Update – General review. Mathletics 2014. Monthly contribution. Long term projects.
  • AZ stated current finances stand at £9000- £1200 = £7800 (including income from Xmas Fayre and Pavilion paid for but many outstanding expenses yet to be paid). Another possible £3000 spend so far.
  • AZ gave update on current situation with bank and new signatories. Bank lost ID for AZ and SH. KM’s ID is in place. AZ is chasing bank and signatories should soon be in place.
  • Wish list – last June focussed on Pavilion.
  • Architect fee and Mathletics payment in hand.
  • DH asked AH if she could ask if school would be able to budget for Mathletics in the future.
  • AH asked if PTA could plan spending more strategically with school rather than through the wish list which can be quite arbitrary. DH agreed that this has been requested by the PTA and would be preferred.
  • Discussion of June wish list resulted in all agreeing to leave the outstanding items for now and to concentrate on improving the outside areas of the school. AH asked for clarification of what the budget might be. DH suggested £2000 to £3000 after our monthly “trips” payments of £5000 pa are paid out.
  • SH – Musical instruments have already been agreed with Ms Tigue at meeting with DR, SH and DH.
  • AH – Green area between playgrounds needs attention. Signs around the outside areas were suggested.
  • AH – DR to request help from parents via the newsletter, to address pavilion area with a path and planters.
  • TO suggested a community Saturday morning when parents could join in to get work done.
  • SH commented on the damp problem in the St Benedict’s building. The damp in the storage cupboard is spreading to the floor. The building is owned by the Church.
  • PTA felt that some books in the school are old and in poor condition and need replacing. A discussion of a potential library took place as a resource that is missing in the school.
  • DH suggested that it might be better if our events were aimed at raising funds for something specific so that parents knew exactly what the money was going towards and that a more strategic spending plan would achieve this.
/ AZ to chase bank re ID for new signatories.
AH to ask DR re budget for Mathletics in future.
AH and DH to clarify situation re wish list with DR.
SH to speak to Fr Pat re damp in St Ben’s.
