Breaking Bad Season 5 Death Pool WARNING: SPOILERS.

RULES:

-- Your ballot is due to Travis by July 15, 2012 at 12:00 pm eastern. E-mail to larchuk (AT) gmail (DOT) com

-- All are welcome to participate. You do not have to know me, and if you do know me, you don’t have to be friends with me.

-- No fair using spoilers or inside knowledge to get ahead.

-- Season 5 is being split into two eight-episode parts. During the break, a new ballot will be released including any new main or secondary characters introduced in the first half of the season. During this break, players may adjust their predictions for characters who did not die during the first half of the season. (More detailed rules at the end of the ballot.)

-- There is absolutely no prize for winning, given the extremely likely possibility that this game is broken in some way and everyone ends up tied at the end. That being said, if you want to bet a little somethin’ somethin’ on the side, that’s your business. Just remember that you won’t know the outcome until Summer 2013, by which point the world economy will have collapsed and money will be completely meaningless.

MAIN CHARACTERS:

Predict the fate of all eight characters in the main cast:

Lives or dies? 25 points for a correct answer.

Either way, answer the following three bonus questions. In the event the character dies, each bonus is worth an additional 5 points for a correct answer. You still get the bonus even if you incorrectly guessed that the character would survive.

1. Episode of death -- Which episode does the character die in? (there are 16 episodes)

2. Cause of death -- How is the character killed? Choose from the following options:

Homicide -- Character killed by another character

Suicide -- Character willfully kills himself

Drug-related -- Character dies as a direct result of willful drug use

Accident -- Character dies as a direct result of an accident

Disease/Natural Causes -- Character killed by disease, stroke, etc.

*Note: Travis has final say over which category a death falls under.

  1. Hydrofluoric bonus -- Is the character’s body disposed of using hydrofluoric acid?

SUPPORTING CHARACTERS:

Assign each of the supporting characters below a point value 1-26 depending on how likely you believe it is that they’ll be killed off this season. (More points = more likely, obviously.) If the character is killed, you will receive the points you assigned to him/her. You must assign each character a different point value (so only one character gets 26, one gets 25, and so on down to 1). Note, many of these characters might not even show up this season.

For a one-point bonus, correctly predict whether the character’s body will be disposed of using hydrofluoric acid. (Only scored if the character dies.)

SEASON BREAK UPDATE RULES:

Main characters:

During the break, players may adjust their predictions for any main characters who are still alive.

Secondary characters:

Secondary characters introduced during the first half of season five will be added to the ballot, along with corresponding point values (so if five new characters are introduced, so will a 27-point, 28-point, 29-point, 30-point and 31-point value).

Players will have the opportunity to re-assign point values to all secondary characters who are still alive. However, if a character dies in the first half of the season and you’ve already scored those points, you may not use that point value again. (For example, if Dr. Delcavoli dies of a drug overdose in episode 3 and you gave him 25 points, you may not re-assign those 25 points to a living character during the break. But you should be happy because you scored 25 friggin points already).

IMPORTANT NOTE: Deaths only count if they occur within the timeline of this season (so if a character has been absent for a while and is killed or revealed to be dead off-screen or in a flashback, it only counts if it happened after the superlab explosion in the Season 4 finale). In the event a character is killed off this way, players will not be penalized and the ballots will be adjusted accordingly.
