Think of a profession or career in which you are interested and might want to pursue when you graduate from high school. Explore this career and possible colleges, universities, community colleges or technical schools.

I would encourage you to contact schools to request admissions information. You can state you are doing a project and interested in attending their university in the future. However, be careful of guarded personal information you share when contacting schools requesting information, admissions packets, etc…

You may need to contact the school of your choice and request admissions information.

Part I: Your project can be done in a number of ways.

a)Create a display information board.

b)Create a PowerPoint that I will post on my fusion page.

c)Produce a booklet, informational packet that can be displayed as well.

Part II: Once you select your school of choice you will declare a program of study: Business and Economics, Sports Medicine, Accounting, Cosmetology, Nursing, Education/Teaching.

Part III. Requirements:

  1. College/University name: address, website, phone number, and fax number. For example: The University of Alabama at Birmingham.
  2. Chancellor or President Information.
  3. Admission Requirements: Do they require the ACT/SAT? Some schools may require a portfolio/resume’ via electronically, if so, what would that involve? What is the application fee? Once you are accepted, what is the deposit requirement for housing?
  4. Does your college/university have any social media sites? If so, link them.
  5. Cost per year/semester? In state tuition cost or out of state tuition fees?
  6. If your college/university is more than 5 hours away, then figure air fare from flying out of Charlotte to the nearest airport in the area of your school.
  7. Housing/Dormitories: Room and board, including meal plan. Housing option, all male, all female, co-ed, and is housing a requirement for all entering freshman?
  8. Are meal plans for freshman required? If so, what are the various options and cost?
  9. Books- do you rent, purchase, or download your textbooks? What would be an average cost of a textbook for American Literature?
  10. Locate a college textbook on line site and reference that as a textbook option. Example: (Amazon)
  11. Financial Aid/Grants/Loans/Scholarships? What will one year all-inclusive cost you and your family?
  12. Campus Life: Ways to get involved. Fraternities and Sororities
  13. Campus Organizations: Clubs, social groups or religious groups.
