Assistant Producer, BPYAP
JOB DESCRIPTION
Snape Maltings’ (SM) activities encompass: a year-round performance programme including the Aldeburgh Festival; professional development through the Britten–Pears Young Artist Programme and Residencies; education work with schools, prisons and the wider community; and the management of Snape Maltings Creative Campus.
The Britten–Pears Young Artist Programme is the UK’s leading development programme for emerging professional musicians, offering intensive short courses on orchestral, early music, opera, song, composition, chamber music and performance training. Courses are led by international artists and are offered by audition to advanced students and young professionals from all over the world. All courses end with public performances, frequently forming part of the Aldeburgh Festival and other major concert series. BBC broadcasts and CD recordings are also possible. Opera courses last for several weeks and culminate in fully-staged productions.
Residencies & Open Spaceare designed to provide a unique opportunity for musicians and other artists at any stage of their career to experiment, take risks, develop new skills and recharge creative batteries. The creation and dissemination of exciting new work is at the heart of the programme. In addition to the existing Residencies we launched Open Space in 2013: with the generous support of the Esmée Fairbairn Foundation, this has created a bespoke development programme for a number of emerging ensemble and artist-led projects.
