GENERAL MANAGER—ARENA OPERATIONS
Membertou Sport & Wellness Centre

The Membertou Sport and Wellness Centre Inc., is developing a new Recreation Centre that includes a 1,200 seat event arena, a community arena, multi-purpose conference space plus a walking track. The facility will house a fitness centre which will be managed by the local YMCA. Slated to open in summer 2016, the Centre will be the focal point of the community for many years to come.

Nustadia Recreation Inc. (NRI) is a Canadian company that provides complete turnkey development and operating management for recreational facilities across Canada. NRI was selected to manage, operate and maintain the Sport and Wellness Centre by the Membertou First Nation.

NRI, is looking for a motivated team builder with a proven recreational facility management background to serve as the General Manager. This individual will be experienced in communication with multiple stakeholders, enthusiastic and able to represent NRI and Membertou with professionalism and with a community focus.

The General Manager is responsible for:

·  Day to day administration, operations and management of the arena and meeting rooms (less

the YMCA space)

·  Customer Service with a Community Access Plan

·  Leadership & Planning to include annual capital and operation budget preparation;

·  Relationship management with all stakeholders including the Band Council/Staff, tenants,

facility users, and the public with respect to operational issues; and

·  Program/Services Coordination - Facility programming development in conjunction with other

senior management and stakeholders;

·  Coordinating Sales & Marketing initiatives including facility promotion, advertising and

sponsorship sales;

·  Supervision & Teamwork Support, training, supervision and performance management of staff

·  Security & Resource Planning

·  Contract Negotiations

·  Facility Maintenance

·  Other duties and activities required to meet the responsibilities of the facility operations.

Minimum job requirements: 5 years’ experience in Arena/Facility Management and/or post-secondary degree in related fields.
