Instruction: In outline form, describe each day of instruction. / Formative Assessment:
Day 1
·  Bell Ringer from USATest Prep
·  Then spend 10-15 min discussing the bell ringer
·  Spend 30-45 mins going over the Power point presentation
·  Finish class by explaining what a exit slip is and what is expected from an exit slip and then write an exit slip / CCT
Day 2
·  We will do a numbered heads activity to read diary/journal entries from some of the early European settlers
·  Students will finish by completing a exit slip over three thing they learned in class today / Exit Slip
Day 3
·  Bell Ringer from USATest Prep
·  Then spend 10-15 min discussing the bell ringer
·  We will then take a Ch. 2 sec. 1 Quiz and grade in class 15-20 min
·  I will then go over the power point presentation 30-45 mins over Ch. 2 Section 2
·  We will finish by the students writing about what they could expect if they were an explorer at this time
/ Writing from a perspective
Day 4
