SHB's Enhanced Security Login Guide

ON DEVICE ENROLLMENT (Web and App)

SHBcustomers that are already enrolled in Online Banking can now enroll in Mobile Banking directly on their mobile devices. This process begins by either downloading the SHB Mobile App to your device (available for iPhone and iPad in the App Store and for Android devices in Google Play) or accessing the Mobile Web site via a URL. (mobile.shbnet.com) Once the URL is accessed, these two access methods function the same.

Customers MUST be enrolled in Southern Heritage Bank’s Online Banking, with an existing username and password to enroll in mobile banking.

Once you have connected to the site with either method, enrollment begins by logging on to the Web or App with a User ID and Password. Activation takes place after this enrollment through a series of security measures designed to prevent fraudulent access to accounts. Activation is designed to register a device and tie it to a particular account thus “activating” the device. Each time a user logs into their account, the software automatically checks to see if the ID, password, and device are typical for this account. This Advanced Login Authentication is vital part of the move to provide an even more secure environment for mobile banking customers and meets FFIEC recommendations.

The pages ahead describe the processes and screen displays what you will see as you access mobile banking through Mobile Web or the Mobile App.

To enroll, you should follow these steps:

1. Browse to the specific mobile web URL or open the mobile app for Southern Heritage Bank on the mobile device. The Splash page will display while the program is launching. /
2. Once the App has successfully launched, the sign on screen appears. Enter the login credentials. User ID & Password

OUT-OF-WALLET PROCESS

The Out-of-Wallet process is an advanced login authentication method that is a vital part of providing a secure environment for SHB's mobile banking customers that connects the user account with the device accessing the account. Designed to prevent fraudulent mobile access to accounts, the advanced login authentication solution provides enhanced protection for mobile banking users and meets FFIEC recommendations.

The first time a device is used to access a mobile SHB banking account, the Out-of-Wallet process challenges you to provide response information that will prove your identity and validity. Successful completion of this step means your device has been enrolled, activated, connected and you are provided access to your account. Returning users do not see the security questions as the software behind the scene checks the device and sees that it is recognized as a known device tied to the account.

Note:Users are locked out of mobile and internet banking when they enter an invalid password three times during login. Lockouts do not occur when device profiles are rejected or customers do not successfully complete step-up authentication (Out-of-Wallet questions).

Note:If the customer answers the questions incorrectly, the customer is given another set of questions until the maximum number of questions allowed is reached. If the customer is unsuccessful at answering the questions presented in all quiz question sets, they will be presented an error message indicating that additional questions cannot be generated. The customer will be prevented from attempting to access mobile banking from that device for a 24 hour period. Once the 24 hour time period is complete, they may attempt to log into mobile banking again using the affected device.
