General Practice Registrars
The practice is recognised as a training practice for young doctors who intend to become General Practitioners. They will be here for a year. They will initially sit in with other GPs during their first weeks; thereafter they will have appointments in their own right. As part of the training process some of their consultations are videotaped. You will always be told about this and asked to give your signed consent for a video to be made. If you later decide that you don’t wish the video to be kept please let the Registrar or the reception staff know and it will be destroyed. The tapes are obviously also subject to strict confidentiality.
Patients with Special Needs
Access to the surgery is via a ramp to the front door. The reception, waiting area and consulting rooms are all on the ground floor. The toilet in the waiting area is equipped for disabled patients. Limited parking is available at the side and rear of the building, and on the street at the front. If you have vision or hearing problems, please tell the receptionist who will assist you. The Reception has a hearing loop fitted for the hard of hearing.
If English is not your first language we can arrange for a telephone interpreter. Dr Goyal is also fluent in Hindi and Dr Ip is fluent in Cantonese and Hakka
Newsletter and Practice Booklets
The practice produces a quarterly newsletter. If you would like a copy of this or our practice booklet in large print, please ask at reception.
HOW TO REGISTER WITH THE PRACTICE
To register with the practice you should request new patient forms at the reception desk.
You will be offered the opportunity to have a new patient health check. This allows us to gather any relevant information we may require before your medical record is received from your former GP.
If you prefer a particular type of doctor e.g. female for female patients and vice versa we will do our best to accommodate this. Please let the receptionist know when you make your appointment. You should note however that not all doctors in the practice provide all services and specific doctors may not be immediately available.
Our practice area covers Paisley, Elderslie, and parts of Renfrew.
If you move out of the practice area, you will need to register with a new practice as soon as you move. We can provide information about how to find a new practice.
