Use this application to apply for the Research Fellows Program or the Teaching Fellows Program. You may apply to both programs, but you can only be selected for one Fellowship.
MINIMUM Fellowship Program Requirements: In order to qualify for participation in the Sociology Undergraduate Research or Teaching Fellows Program, you must: 1) be a Sociology Major, and 2) have a current cumulative GPR of 3.0 or higher.
Additional Program Requirements/Recommendations
Research Fellows Program:Musthave received a grade of A or B in Sociology 220 (Introduction to Social Research Methods) or its equivalent.
Teaching Fellows Program:Preference will be given those applicants with experience/training in tutoring and/or writing or editing (e.g. training as a TAMU Writing Center Consultant), or who have earned an A or a B inSociology 220 (Introduction to Social Research Methods or Sociology 230 (Classical Sociological Theory).

I wish to be considered for a Sociology Undergraduate Fellowship. I understand that if I am selected and accept this position, I will be committed to working ten hours a week for ten weeks during the semester of award, obtaining research or teaching training with a Sociology Professor at Texas A&M University. I will receive financial remuneration for participation in this program. I understand that because this is an extra-curricular activity and because monetary compensation is involved, I may not use my work under this program to count for course credit.

The Sociology Undergraduate Fellows Programs attempt to accommodate student and faculty preferences as to who works with whom. However, there are times when, for administrative reasons, a student may be assigned to a professor different than that which he or she requested.
