Purpose of the New Role:To conduct software development in order to meet the objectives of the development of tools to support the diagnosis and treatment of amblyopia.
Main Responsibilities / % time per year1. / According to the specific appointment, to undertakesoftware development of tools to implement new concepts in treating amblyopia. / 60%
2. / To liaise with others undertaking researchwithin the I-bit research group. To communicate with them as designers and specifiers of the research aims. To develop results that will support publication of research findings in internationally leading peer-reviewed journals / 30%
3. / To contribute to the strengthening of existing collaborations with others working in the development of computer based treatments of amblyopia. / 10%
Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience
Essential / DesirableQualifications/ Education / MSc in Computer Science having knowledge and experience in the development of computer games including aspects of the creation of game assets and storyline. / Design and development of commercialisable games.
Skills/Training / Computer programming for the production of computer graphics. Use of shaders and asset development tools.
Understanding of TDD and Agile approaches to software engineering / Knowledge of and experience with stereo graphics.
Experience working in a team of software developers and in response to customer needs
Experience / Experience in the design and development of video games / Development and publishing of computer games with commercial impact.
Statutory/Legal / Eligible to work in the UK.
Decision Making
i)taken independently by the role holder
•Conducting software development on a day-to-day basis according to agreed objectives•Decision on technical issues arising as part of the research work

•Exploration of research directions to support to overall research goals•Decision on strategies to achieve the agreed research goals
