Napoleon Athletic Boosters
Meeting Minutes – February 11, 2015
In attendance: Michelle Fernamberg, Kim McClurg, Lori Prescott, Justin Conaway, Cami West, Linda Smith, Geri Phelps, via phone call Christy Davis. Absent: Heather Marienfeld.
Meeting called to order about 6:50 pm by M. Fernamberg
CONDOLENCES:
Michelle will email all board members regarding their preference for condolences to Shawn Murphy and Shirley Johnston as his/her circumstances are different then the by-laws.
DANCE:
Michelle brought up the scheduled dance on March 21 at the American Legion. There is some concern regarding the profits to the group for the efforts needed. Also there is some concern regarding the reputation of the dance, in light of circumstances from the year before. Discussion continued and Lori offered an alternative – a casino bus trip. Lori will find out about availability of Ollie’s Group on Saturday 3/21/15. The group decided that it would be best to forego a dance this year and offer the casino bus trip. The raffle tickets indicate the drawing will be at the American Legion on 3/21, so there was discussion that the casino trip departure would be from the American Legion after the drawing. Christy is going to find out what bus company Northwest schools used for their recent bus trip.
Christy will contact Davis’ for dinner dates in 2016, either 3/11 or 3/25, as the Eby Carnival is 3/18 and basketball conferences are the first week in March.
RAFFLE-TIGER TICKETS
Heather gave the printed tickets to Cami tonight. Ryan Coe picked up raffle tickets tonight to hand out to coaches (Cross country, bowling, baseball, softball). Question was asked if youth programs can sell raffle tickets and retain the proceeds. Cami to verify with the school. Heather has tickets to sell as well. Michelle agreed to coordinate the ticket distribution and will contact Ryan regarding the raffle process, timing and close out.
PRIOR MEETING MINUTES
Cami motioned to approve and Kim seconded to accept minutes as presented.
BANK BALANCES
Cami shared the bank statements with the group. Balance was approximately $15,000.
SPRING SPORTS
Boosters host all spring concessions at the athletic complex (MS and HS) for track. There was discussion regarding the early baseball/softball tournament. Many members volunteered to help for the concessions. Approximately 6-8 will be needed for each track meet when the schedule is confirmed. Michelle will follow up with the HS office for final schedule. Volunteers will be recruited upon receipt of this information.
BOOTY DASH-June 6, 2015
Cami reported letters are going out to the sponsors from last year asking for their continued monetary support. New sponsors are also being sought. Sponsorship levels are the same as last year. Lori will order the banners for the sponsors this year. Cami indicated the flyer is available for distribution and she will forward to the group for distribution. Lori reminded boosters that a table is available for them to share information about the group and upcoming activities at the Eby Carnival on 3/20/15. She would like to have a Childrenz Challenge table at the Booty Dash and it was approved. Linda mentioned medals for place finishers at the Booty Dash instead of monetary prizes. Medals will be investigated. The route for the Booty Dash will be primarily the same; however the start/finish will be evaluated to provide better access for spectators and participants as well as accurate distance. The run will be chipped this year for easier and more accurate reporting. Fun run is still going to be offered. There will be a flyer for the Eby students. Lori will ask Kelly Fuels for snacks, including granola bars and bottled water.
Meeting adjourned around 8 pm.
