STATUS: Part Time 15 Hours

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Shoot, edit, and occasionally produce video projects for Edge (High School Age) services, events and promotions.

CHARACTER:

Demonstrate the qualities of a follower of Jesus Christ, with a passion to love God, live in community with those in the body of Christ and extend the love of God to those seeking him. Show a strong commitment to living out Kensington’s Love, Lock and Live in his/her Christian life. Shows interest in creating fun elements that reach and relate to high school students.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Education: College degree and/or equivalent experience in video/film related fields.
  2. Experience: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational skills also required. Strong creative and technical skills a necessity. Demo reel required.
  3. Shooting: Proven experience with HD cameras and lenses; proven experience in the proper use of composition, technique, color, style, and movement. Independent shooting experience required.
  4. Editing: Solid experience with Final Cut Pro and After Effects, color correction, and film-style editing techniques. Experience with Photoshop and DVD Studio Pro or Adobe Encore a plus.
  5. Lighting: Experience with film-style field lighting.
  6. Audio: Knowledge and experience with proper field audio techniques, including mic type selection and placement. Ability to troubleshoot audio problems and sweeten in postproduction.
  7. Requirements: Within six months of employment, membership at Kensington Community Church or in process. Affirmation of the mission, values and beliefs of Kensington. Must attend Sunday morning Service at the Birmingham campus as a part of campus and to develop relationships within the community.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Shoot & edit (occasionally produce) short-format video projects. Genres include, but not limited to, short films, music videos, interviews, short documentaries, and motion graphics. Work collaboratively withBirminghamEdge Director.Must be able to work independently.
  2. Gather and create graphics, pictures, sound, music and other media elements for video-related projects.
  3. Show a desire and ability to learn new video production and editing techniques and incorporate these new ideas into projects at Kensington.
  4. Troubleshoot problems that may arise and show an ability to learn from mistakes and improve decision-making skills.
  5. Finalize and prepare videos for playback. Organize and clean up projects and archive appropriately.
  6. Complete various other requests, such as duplication, DVD/CD creation, online file uploading, etc.
  7. Communicate and connect with EdgeCreative Director.
  8. Empower And Develop a student/volunteer team to help in all production, editing and filming.
