Regular MeetingJune 14, 2016

Commission President, Jim Strehlow called the meeting of theRibMountain Metropolitan Sewerage District (Metro) to order at 11:30a.m. CommissionMembersPresent:Galen Olson, PaulWirth,TomWittkopf andBob Stavran. Also Present:Ken Johnson, Manager/Superintendent;and KatherineKunze, Administrative Clerk/Secretary.

Commission Expiration – Mr. Strehlow noted that his Commission expires on August 11, 2016. Mr. Strehlow indicated that he would like to serve another term, but not as President of the Commission. Mr. Stavran made a motion that the Metro Commission supportthe reappointment of Mr. Strehlow for another five year term. This was seconded by Mr. Wirth. Questioned and by means of a roll call vote, unanimously passed. Mr. Strehlow abstained from the motion. A letter will be sent to Mr. Brad Karger, Marathon County Administrator and copied to the communities.

Mr. Stavran made a motion to approve the following May Prepaid 2016Checks and the June 14, 2016 Check Register, withMr. Olson seconding the motion. Questioned and unanimously passed.

FACILITIES AND GROUNDS UPGRADE

Mr. Johnson pointed out the progress report for the facilities upgrade that was prepared by Strand Associates.

This report was reviewed and discussed.

MANAGER-SUPERINTENDENTS REPORT

BudgetComparison Report -None

Asset/Replacement –Mr. Johnson reviewed the two truck quotes the Metro received from Brickner’s of Wausau and Kocourek Ford for the replacement of its utility truck. After review and discussion a motion was made by Mr. Stavran to purchase the 2016 Dodge Ram 2500 Crew Cab with the necessary accessories for $25,001 with trade. Mr. Wirth seconded the motion. Questioned and unanimously passed. reviewed .

Plant Report – Reviewed the May Report

Old/New Business – Mr. Johnson reported to the Commission that he received an “Open Records Request” from Smart Procure out of Florida for the Metro’s electronic purchasing records from January 1, 2010 to the present. Mr. Johnson indicated that he spoke to the Metro’s Attorney regarding this request and Attorney Nicks is preparing a response to them indicating they would have to pay for the administration/copying fees because the Metro’s purchases are kept in a paper format, not electronic. During discussion Mr. Johnson noted that he will keep the Commission updated on their response.

Removal of lumber will start in July.

Mr. Johnson noted that the WWOA Conference will be held in LaCrosse, WI from October 11 through the 14, 2016.
