Announcing a Totally Unique & Exciting Workshop Series!
Learn the skills of layout & composition to make your finished paintings & drawings more pleasing to the eye, both to you and to others, making them easier for you to sell or market.
You will learn the secrets of using lighting & shading to define forms & shapes, as well as using perspective, layout and compositionskills to arrange the forms & shapes in such a way as to make your artwork more appealing and, thus, marketable.
Most art students feel that what they lack in the beginning are manual skills; a practiced hand. Actually this is only a minor step in becoming the artist you want to be. Most students are actually better than they think, and in any case they become increasingly skilled, almost automatically, with practice. What the art student is lacking is the habit of thinking decisively about what the hand should do.
This Two Part Workshop is intended to teach the art student to SEE how to recreate the world that surrounds them. By drawing and creating basic shapes, you will learn how they can be manipulated and positioned to achieve an appealing composition.
During the First Part of the series, you will develop your hand by drawing and learning about Shapes andForms.
During the Second Part of the series, you will learn the importance of Perspective, Layout & Composition. You will use the skills learned during the first part to arrange your elements in a way that are pleasing to the eye. You will learn why certain elements are usedrepeatedly to achieve a professional composition and/or illustration.
Additionally, as a class, we will explore how to successfully complete and market a finished project.
At the end of the series, you will have developed your abilities to SEE and you will find yourself drawing and creating illustrations. You will be creating drawings with confidence and will have gained greater manual skill – your practiced hand. Ultimately, you will make progress and gain confidence in your skills and gain a better understanding of the world that surrounds you.
Most importantly, our intention is that by the end of this seriesevery effort will be made to bring you closer to your goal ofbecoming a successful artist. You will see that success is very real and possible. Commit yourself to achieving that success and you will be well on your path to artistry.

We are fortunate to have Thel Arthuras your instructor for this unique & exciting Workshop Series.
A great actor once said that his ability to project the same amount of emotional fire night after night and performance after performance throughout a long and brilliant run,was because of his attitude and approach. He regarded every night as opening night.
The same outlook is the generating force behind Thel Arthur’s success as a commercial artist and illustrator. The hundreds of illustrations, paintings and marketing materials he has completed have never dulled his enthusiasm for the next drawing. It’s as keen today, as it was for his first illustration. In part, this is due to his eternally youthful outlook and constant enthusiasm for life, people, art and work. Thel Arthur is an award-winning illustrator, graphics artist and art director. He has worked with such clients as Universal Pictures, Fox Television, Rhino Records, RCA, Blue Cross, Toyota, McDonalds and, even, Clayton Moore, who portrayed “The Lone Ranger,” and Wayne Newton. Hehas created numerous album covers, movie titles & posters including: “Jaws” and “Miami Vice”, brochures, annual reports, and all types of advertising materials. He is also the publisher and illustrator for hisown children’s book “Super Grandmother”.
