On the basis of Article 362 paragraph 1 of the Merchant Shipping Code and Article 24 paragraph 7 of the Мandatory rules of the maritime ports of Bulgaria of the Executive Director of the Executive Agency "Maritime Administration" to ensure the safety of navigation in the area of Port Burgas

I HEREBY ORDER

1. For the use of tugs in the area of the "Maritime Administration - Burgas" the following rules apply:

(1) The minimum number and total power of tugs used for maneuvering in the port of Burgas are as follows:

GT / Minimum number of tugs / Minimum total power of tugs
1000 - 3000 / 1 / 750 h.p.
3000 - 8000 / 2 / 1950 h.p.
8000 – 15 000 / 2 / 3600 h.p.
15 000 – 30 000 / 2 / 4800 h.p.
30 000 – 60 000 / 2 / 6000 h.p.
Over 60 000 / 3 / 7200 h.p.

(2) The vessels fitted with bowtrusters and/or two propellers give right to the pilot, in agreement with the captain, to decrease with one power the used tugs, indicated in the table, if they consider that their decision shall not jeopardize the safety of the port facilities, the ship and the environment.

(3) In order to reduce the number and the power of or the exemption from the use of tugs in accordance with paragraph 2 by more than one power, a written application shall be sent to the Director of the Directorate "Maritime aministratsion - Burgas"
