IRHS First Hour Contract
Ironwood Ridge High School will offer first hour classes in several disciplines during the 2017-2018 school year. Class offerings will be limited and based upon availability. Please read the following carefully to understand the guidelines for participating in a first hour class. Your signature indicates that you both understand and accept all conditions outlined below:
§ First hour classes will be held on Monday through Friday from 7:10 a.m. to 8:08 a.m. (Times listed are subject to change per the bell schedule.)
§ Transportation is the responsibility of the student. There will be no district bus transportation for first hour. Please understand that transportation must be in place for the entire school year.
§ Parking policies will be enforced for first hour. This means only 11th and 12th grade students with valid parking permits may park on the IRHS campus. Students may not park in areas adjacent to the school.
§ Students must have transportation to leave campus if they finish classes prior to the end of 7th period. Use of the library as a place for independent study/study hall will not be permitted.
§ Seniors may count a first hour class as one of the 4, 5 or 6 classes they must take. Students may take 7 classes.
§ Drop/Add procedures are listed in the course catalog. Signing up for a year-long class is a year-long commitment, unless designated below.
§ This contract does not guarantee you will get a first hour class or first lunch.
