Annual Event 2012 Information Pack

The Aqua-tnet Annual Event 2012 will be held all day Thursday 28th June and the morning of Friday 29th June 2012. The day before the Annual Event (the afteroon of Wednesday 27th June), some workpackages are holding a workgroup meeting (e.g. WP2 & WP3). Please indicate in the registration form (below) if you will be involved in any of these.
Further information on the programme will be made available on the website and the final programme will be sent out when finalised. The event is an opportunity to engage with issues important for the future of education and lifelong learning at the European level in the fields of aquaculture, fisheries and aquatic resources management. The participation of all stakeholders is encouraged and facilitated through the network including industry, researchers, teachers and students.
TRAVELAs places are limited, please do not book your travel until you have received confirmation from the coordinator. Once your place at the meeting has been confirmed by the project coordinator, please book your own transport to and from the venue.
Travel costs will be reimbursed for eligible participants (members of an Aqua-tnet institution or invited stakeholders) provided that travel costs are the lowest fares possible. Flight tickets below 325 euro can be booked without approval (once you have received attendance confirmation). However, if your travel costs are above 325 euro, do not book before you have authorisation from the Aqua-tnet project coordinator (). Please add the flight arrival and departure information to the registration form as we may be able to organise a bus from the airport to the hotel. We will be in touch again later about arrival at the airport. Please also give us your total travel cost estimate to help with overall event budgeting.

The Aqua-tnet Annual Meeting 2012 is organised in the same location as where you will be staying. Aqua-tnet will book and pay for the accommodation at the hotel.
The Hotel TRYP Guadalmar is on a prime beach front location with direct access to the beaches Guadalmar and Bajondillo, where you can enjoy water sports or a stroll at sunset. There are two outdoor swimming pools (for adults and children) surrounded by gardens with sunbeds and sunshades and with stunning views over the Bay of Málaga. There is also an indoor heated pool, a Jacuzzi, sauna, gym and tennis courts. All rooms are spacious with two Queen size beds, a terrace with sea views and all facilities (e.g. writing desk, free Wi-Fi, air conditioning, satellite TV, safe and hair dryer). Free Wireless internet is available throughout the hotel.
The hotel is located only a 5 minute drive from Malaga International Airport Costa del Sol (Pablo Ruiz Picasso Airport as it is also known), which is a good hub for cheap Ryanair flights travelling from most of Europe. There is easy access by public transport to the City (10 km) where you can visit the Gibralfaro Castle, Picasso Museum, Roman theatre, Arab fortress or Bull ring.
Your stay is all inclusive, which means breakfast, lunch and dinner is included from the evening of the 27th to lunch on the 29th. There will also be tea and coffee breaks during the meeting in the mornings and afternoons. If you would like to stay longer (at your own cost) or book also for a partner, please inform us in the extra information part of the registration form. You will have to pay all extras (such as meals, drinks, minibar, telephone, pay movies) before checking out of the hotel.
