A RESOLUTION adjourning the House of Representatives in loving memory and honor of Vivian Barker Wright.

With deepest respect and admiration, we pay homage and tribute to Vivian Barker Wright.

WHEREAS, Vivian Barker Wright was born on February 19, 1918, a native of Wise, Virginia, and traversed these earthly bounds on February 6, 1998; and

WHEREAS, Vivian Barker Wright was the adored daughter of Wright Stickley and Cynthia Gilliam Barker, who preceded her in death; she was the devoted wife of the late Erle C. Wright; she was the loving mother of a daughter, Representative Kathy Stein and son-in-law Alan Stein, and of two sons, Wayne Wright of Reston, Virginia, and Jack Wright and daughter-in-law Sharon Hatfield of Athens, Ohio; and she was the proud grandmother of six grandchildren and one great-grandchild; and

WHEREAS, Vivian Barker Wright graduated from Wise High School in Wise, Virginia, and Radford University in Radford, Virginia; and she received a Master's Degree in Education from the University of Virginia; and

WHEREAS, Vivian Barker Wright was a retired primary school teacher, and she was considered an active and involved citizen of the Wise, Virginia, community where she was a devout member of the First Baptist Church and the Wise Education Association; she was a former member of the Town of Wise Planning Commission; she was active in Fortnightly and Senior Citizens' clubs; and through the years, she was applauded for her art in canning and was the recipient of many prizes at the Wise County Fair; and

WHEREAS, the passing of Vivian Barker Wright has left a void that will be difficult to fill, and she is mourned across the length and breadth of the Commonwealth;

NOW, THEREFORE,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

Section 1. This honorable body hereby expresses its profound sense of sorrow upon the passing of Vivian Barker Wright, and extends to her family and friends its most heartfelt sympathy.

Section 2. When the House of Representatives adjourns this day, it does so in loving memory and honor of Vivian Barker Wright.

Section 3. The Clerk of the House of Representatives is hereby directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to the Honorable Kathy Stein, 364 Transylvania Park, Lexington, Kentucky 40508.
