- The University of Maine System, acting through the University of Southern Maine (seller), is seeking bids for surplus vehicles.

The deadline for receipt of bids is 12:00 PM, June 16, 2017.
Bids received after this time will not be considered.
- Inspection: Vehiclesmay be visually inspected at the University of Southern Maine Portland and Gorham campuses, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday through Friday. All bidders are encouraged to inspect vehicles before submitting bids. No test drives.
- Condition of Vehicles: Equipment is offered for sale “Where is” and “As is” without any warranties, express or implied, as to merchantability or fitness for purpose. See bid sheet for more.
- Tie Bids: Bid responses will be time and date stamped upon receipt at the Purchasing Department. If identical bids are submitted, the bid will be awarded to the first offer received.
- Limit one bid form per bidder. Defaulting on a winning bid may result in exclusion of the bidder from any future bidding of University of Southern Maine surplus.
- Payment must be made by check payable to the University of Southern Maine or cash.
- Buyer must remove all purchased item(s) from the University premises within
7 business days after notice of award. Seven days after closing of the bids is Friday, June 23rd. Buyer shall not salvage desired parts from the item(s) and leave the unwanted parts behind. Buyer shall remove all unused materials associated with the item(s) purchased and leave the premises in a neat and clean condition at the completion of the work.
- Buyer agrees that Seller shall have no liability for consequential, incidental, special, or punitive damages arising out of this agreement.
- Buyer shall be responsible for all packing, insurance, and transportation costsassociated with the removal of the item(s) purchased and identified herein.
- Buyer assumes full responsibility for item(s) upon payment and Buyersignature on the Bill of Sale. The title will be mailed to Buyer after payment is received. This may take 2 – 5 business days.Upon transfer of title, all risk of loss shall transfer to Buyer, and Seller shall have no liability of any sort for any damages of any kind which may result from Seller’s removal, transportation, shipping, use, disposition, or disposal in any manner for the item(s) purchased herein.
- Buyer will be responsible to make full restitution for any damages caused to University property during removal of item(s) from University premises.
- Buyer shall indemnify and hold the Seller harmless from and against any injury, loss, damage, claim or liability therefore arising from any omission, default or neglect of the Buyer, the Buyer’s agents or employees in connection with the removal of the item(s).
- Seller will provide Buyer with reasonable access to the item(s) to allow for the removal during normal business hours by arrangement with the contact person listed herein.
