Paragraph Writing – Cycle 2
Topic: Halloween
Due: Day 6
For your paragraph this cycle you will write about one Halloween activity. To write this paragraph, you are to do the following:
- Make a list of as many activities as you can think of that are connected with Halloween.
- Choose one of the activities, and make a list of all the words you can that describe that one activity.
- Using some of the words generated in your second list, describe the one Halloween activity you have chosen in a good paragraph.
You must include both lists, both the draft and final copy of your paragraph, and this assignment sheet. Remember, a good paragraph will have a topic sentence, which will catch the interest of the reader. It will often have 4 – 6 sentences which support the topic sentence, and a concluding sentence.
You will be evaluated on the following criteria:

Neatness / The paragraph is written neatly in black or blue ink, or typed. / 3
Submitted paragraph / The brainstorming lists, draft copy(ies) and final copy of the paragraph, and the assignment sheet (this sheet) were submitted. / 2
