This week in class…from our students…

The first day of the Scholastic Book fair is on November 16th and they will have all kinds of structure books and veteran books and memorial books and mystery evidence books and lots and lots of other books. Make sure you come on down to the book fair and bring money to buy some!

Honesty Crowder

This week in SpringBoard our story is called “Eleven.” In “Eleven,” we had to find the theme of the story. We also had to find evidence of something.

It is also Veterans Day week. I appreciate all the veterans of the world.

This week in class has been about veterans. Veterans are people who have served in the military for our country. You can say that the veterans are the theme of our week. Our spelling list has some words that should be familiar to us. Memorial has something to do with veterans, and memorials are in remembrance of someone. Everyone should know what structure means from SpringBoard.

Ty Jarrett

We give appreciation to veterans that have fought for our country. Some of them have flashbacks of war. They gain structure so they can be good at their jobs. We are going to celebrate Memorial Day to thank our troops.

Destiny Flesch

This week our class has been working on the theme of the story and what it teaches you. We have been working on veterans, and why they’re important. We have also been talking about Memorial Day and what it means. We also wrote a letter about appreciating our veterans and thanking them.

Monica Smith

Today I read a story. The theme of the story was every man has his treasure. I had a flashback of when I read another book of that. Happy Veterans Day, people! My dad is a veteran and his name is Charles and I have evidence.

Charles Hill

This week in class we talked about theme, action, and setting in our SpringBoard book on Lemon Brown’s treasure. While we were reading Lemon Brown had a very important flashback into his past. His son went to the war and died, but he was still a veteran. And his last thing to remember him was his newspaper clippings and harmonica. Lemon Brown appreciated this memorial.

Nate Mehrer

This Friday night we are having a themed Black Light Dance from 5-7. We have also been talking about memorials. We have also been trying to show our appreciation for veterans. We have made a Wall of Honor from stars we sent home to students to share their veterans with us. We would also like your kids to bring their parents or grandparents on the 17th of next week for visitation day. We would also like your kids to support our Thanksgiving baskets by bringing in food or money. We have several days next week to dress wacky or in pajamas to help us out!

Khalil Dillard

This week we learned more about why we should have appreciation for veterans. They could have flashbacks on wars that they can’t talk about. The families may have to have a memorial for their loved one. Thank you, veterans!

Gabrielle Orme

The theme of this week in math is solving inequalities. On Veterans Day, we talked about memorials for soldiers and other people in the armed forces. We have the same word study words as last week so we can build our structure up. That’s some of the stuff we did this week.

KyliyahMorgret

This week in reading/language arts we did reading for a little bit and did word study. In math we have to have a lot of evidence to get the variable by itself. When it’s division, you have to multiply, when it’s multiplication, you have to divide. When it’s addition, you have to subtract. Also in reading and springboard we are doing a lot with theme. Yesterday was Veterans Day. A couple days before that we put up a poster, flag, and pictures with paper chains. Some of the red and white lines were extended a lot, but it looked good. That’s what we did this week so far.

Vincente Alaniz

So the theme this week in science is about planets. So we just started a poster project about planets. So we have to have structure first before we do the poster project. And I had a flashback of when I was a little kid we had to make a planets book. I had a lot of evidence of my planet because my mom helped me.

And the theme in SpringBoard is finding the theme or lesson of the story. And it’s hard for people and easy for others. And then we talk about the setting, characters, etc. And it’s like some people are veterans at it and some are like recruits, identifying the lesson!

Dominic Gonzales

This week in class Mrs. Beller has been teaching us about the theme of the “Treasure of Lemon Brown.” She’s been telling us that we need evidence to support our claims. We should all honor our veterans because they supported and died for our country. I showed a lot of appreciation for all the U.S. veterans.

Brion Martin

This week in class we are working on a lot of stuff! Tuesday we wrote appreciation letters to a serviceman/servicewoman. We watched a memorial video for veterans. In SpringBoard we had to find the theme and evidence in the story. We are also collecting for Thanksgiving baskets, so please send in some cans/boxes or stuff you would eat on Thanksgiving.
