Women’s Summit to feature the Rev. Becca Stevens
All women in the diocese, of all ages, are invited to the 2016 Women's Summit, "As the Spirit moves," from 5:30 p.m. Friday, April 22, to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 23, at St. Michael and All Angels, 6630 Nall Ave. in Mission.
Organizers are very excited to host the Rev. Becca Stevens as the event’s keynote speaker. Among her many ministries, she founded Thistle Farms, a sanctuary for healing for women survivors of abuse, addiction, trafficking and prostitution, in Nashville, Tenn.
Those who attend will learn more about how the motto "Love Heals" guides Thistle Farms’ work in the world and how others can apply it in their lives.

Reminder: parochial reports are due by Monday, March 1
Clergy and wardens are reminded that their church’s annual Parochial Report must be completed and returned to the diocesan office no later than March 1. Paper copies of the report were sent to all churches of the diocese in early January.
The report may be completed online, but additional materials still must be sent to the diocese. And new this year – those extra pages also are online! They include:
· supplement to the Parochial Report
· church list of lay delegates to Diocesan Convention
· updated information for the diocesan Directory
· report on clergy continuing education

St. Thomas’, Overland Park, seeks a summer youth intern
St. Thomas the Apostle in Overland Park is hiring a summer intern to assist with youth ministries including Vacation Bible School, Arts Camp, Reaching Out to The Community camps, and more.
The person who is hired will have the opportunity to learn and develop many important skills in a ministry setting, to reflect on their call and gifts for ministry, and to build relationships with many of the parish’s students.
The internship will last from the beginning of June at MegaCamp through the end of July. Especially suited for college-aged students, this internship is full-time and paid.

St. Mark’s Press now offers specially written Prayers of the People
St. Mark’s Press, a publishing ministry of Good Shepherd, Wichita, now has available special Prayers of the People written by George F. Woodward III.
They are provided by downloadable PDF, enabling church offices to copy and paste directly into bulletins. Based on lessons from the Revised Common Lectionary, the download includes special prayers for every Sunday in each of the three years of the lectionary cycle, as well as prayers for special services.

> Registrations due Feb. 26 for adult volunteers and youth ministers’ event. Recharge is a one-night retreat for youth ministers and volunteers in the diocese. This year the event will focus on Sustainable Youth Ministry, based on the book of the same time by Mark DeVries. There will be several educational sessions, and there also will be time for resource sharing and problem-solving.

New Beginnings registration is now open. This weekend spiritual retreat is for students in grades 6-8 of the current school year, with high school youth serving on staff. New Beginnings focuses on the two greatest commandments: loving God with all our heart, mind and strength; and loving our neighbors as ourselves. April 15-17, St. David’s, Topeka.

> Episcopal Summer MegaCamp registration now open. Camp is June 5-11 at Camp Wood YMCA. Camp Wood features a variety of activities such as horseback riding, archery, climbing tower, canoeing, kayaking, swimming, water slide, mud slide, arts and crafts, and sports. The volunteer Episcopal staff provides solid Christian education, featuring worship, music, small group discussions and prayer.

Four different students entered the competition. The winner was Olivia Rimmer, 8th grader from St. Thomas the Apostle, Overland Park, but all the videos are great!
Recent college graduates urged to apply for campus intern position at KSU
Do you know a recent college graduate who has a passion for working with college students, while furthering their own vocational discernment? If so, serving as a campus intern for the diocesan campus ministry program may be right for them.
The diocese has an opening at Kansas State University for the 2016-2017 academic year, working from Aug. 1 through mid-May. The position offers a stipend of $9,500, with housing provided at the Canterbury House at K-State. There is the potential that this could become a two-year commitment, if desired.
Applicants must have a mature faith, have graduated from college, have excellent interpersonal skills, and possess a desire to work with college students and others in the diocese to further the ministry goals of the campus ministry program.

New Vision workshop offered by the Bishop Kemper School for Ministry
The Bishop Kemper School for Ministry is excited to partner with Bethany House of Studies (ELCA) to welcome the internationally known teacher and trainer Peter L. Steinke to Kansas and Missouri to lead his one-day New Vision Workshop.
This workshop is designed to help participants transform their congregations into dynamic, energized and mission-focused communities of faith. Dr. Peter Steinke has written several best-selling books about congregations and systems. He has been a guru in understanding emotional systems in churches for more than 30 years.
Dr. Steinke will present in Lindsborg on Thursday, April 28 and in Kansas City on Friday, April 29. Registration fees are $190 per person, or $175 if two or more attend from the same congregation. Applications now accepted for AmeriCorps position at EMM-Wichita
Episcopal Migration Ministries-Wichita will receive a one-year AmeriCorps staff member through a special arrangement involving Episcopal Migration Ministries.
EMM-Wichita (formerly known as Episcopal Wichita Area Refugee Ministry, or EWARM) is one of 10 EMM affiliates that will receive a staffer through the program, which is a partnership between the Corporation for National and Community Service and the Administration for Children and Families, Office of Refugee Resettlement.
Recent college graduates or other young adults are invited to apply for the position that will help EMM-Wichita build a volunteer program to assist in their ministry.

Training offered for volunteer disaster chaplaincy
The Beecken Center of the School of Theology at the University of the South, Sewanee, Tenn., in partnership with the National Disaster Interfaith Network, offers a two-day course in disaster chaplain training March 8-9.
The curriculum prepares chaplains and credentialed religious leaders to provide spiritual and emotional care during deployment to disaster sites as well as within their own communities.
Also offered will be a course in Engaging Faith Communities in Disasters on March 7. This curriculum provides an overview of why and how to engage faith communities during disasters and public health emergencies.

Condolences go to Deacon Terry Miescher, St. Bartholomew’s, Wichita, on the death of his mother, Frances Miescher, on Feb. 11. May she rest in peace and rise in glory.
The Rev. Amy Cox concluded her service as locum tenens at St. Francis of Assisi in Stilwell on Jan. 31. She is canonically resident in the Diocese of West Missouri and was licensed in this diocese.
