RENAISSANCE/REFORMATION PROJECT J WORLD HISTORY

This project will give you the opportunity to demonstrate understanding of the key concepts of the Renaissance and the Reformation in a fun & creative way. You will use the information you have gained in World History plus some additional information gathered from Library & Internet research to complete one of the following:

□  a diary/narrative essay

□  a cartoon/graphic novel

Whichever final product you choose, it will be created in the voice of an important Renaissance/Reformation person of your choosing.
Each final product will convey understanding of the same key concepts and vocabulary from the unit:

□  Explain why the Renaissance was referred to as a time of rebirth and how your important Renaissance/Reformation person contributed to/was impacted by this time of rebirth and change

□  Explain how Humanism influenced your important Renaissance/Reformation person

□  Explain the reasons for church reform during the Reformation

□  Explain how your important Renaissance/Reformation person was involved in and/or impacted by the changes of the Reformation

□  Incorporate at least 12 vocabulary words from Vocabulary Logs.

So, regardless of whether you choose to complete a diary/narrative essay or a cartoon/graphic novel you will incorporate AT LEAST 12 vocabulary words form the unit, and you will explain ALL 4 of the key concepts listed above in the voice of an important Renaissance/Reformation person.

Final Product Guidelines:

Diary Entry/Narrative Essay

Explain the 4 key concepts in a diary entry and/or narrative essay that is written in the voice of your important Renaissance/Reformation person, and incorporates at least 12 vocabulary words.

ü  Typed or NEATLY handwritten

ü  Minimum 2 pages

ü  Double-spaced

ü  12 point font

ü  1 inch margins

ü  Highlight or underline Vocabulary Terms

ü  Title and a proper heading (name, date, class period)

ü  Excellent grammar, spelling, punctuation, and capitalization

ü  Due at the beginning of class on MONDAY, NOVEMBER 5, 2012

Cartoon/Graphic Novel

Explain the 4 key concepts in a cartoon/graphic novel that is told from the point of view of your important Renaissance/Reformation person, and that incorporates at least 12 vocabulary words.
