Chair Delecke called the meeting to order at 7:32 pm

Present at Roll Call: Sledz, Henderson, DeleckeandPaterson.Also present: Jo Adair (NEMC Channel 6), Suzanne Sturdavant, Bonnie & Larry Simpson, Karla Sitek, Sam & Ross Boelke, Dennis LeMieux, Pat & Ken Lapinski, Darren Krause, Nancy Moegle and Don DePalma. Absent: Coenen.

Motion to approve agenda as presentedby Paterson; seconded by Sledz. All Ayes. Absent: Coenen.

Motion to approve the minutes as presented by Paterson, seconded by Sledz. All Ayes. Absent: Coenen
Land Split – 73543 Fulton
Application and funding need to be turned in to office. Drawings needed 10 days before public hearing so they can be sent to Planner.
Motion by Sledz to set a Public Hearing for the land split at 73543 Fulton at the regular planning meeting scheduled for October 2, 2017 at 7:30 pm; seconded by Paterson. All Ayes. Absent: Coenen.
SALU – 73543 Fulton
Some discussion. Applicant spoke of her business and her plans for the proposed site. Site Plan, all on one page, showing all dimensions, needed 10 days before Public Hearing to have time to send it to Planner.
Motion by Sledz to set a Public Hearing for the Special Approval Land Use for Suzy’s Bed & Biscuit at 73543 Fulton at the regular planning meeting scheduled for October 2, 2017 at 7:30 pm; seconded by Paterson. All Ayes. Absent: Coenen.
Sign - Ross/Sam Boelke
No application turned in. Need more specific drawing of proposed sign (dimensions, what it would look like, where it will be, etc.). Will come back to Planning Commission when paperwork is turned in.
Public Comment
Dennis LeMieux, Village Code Enforcer, asked for Planning Commission opinion on Armadageddon banner on fence at Armada Armory. Chair Delecke said that the sign is illegal; group needs to come to Planning.
Ms. Lapinski, Ms. Moegle and Ms. Simpson spoke about the old church on Barrows. They had heard it was going to be multi-family and inquired about the process for that to happen. They are concerned about truck traffic should the church be torn down and a new building be put up. They are worried about traffic if it becomes multi-family. Planning Commission explained that the site could not be used for an apartment building but could be a duplex if they apply for Special Approval Land Use. Chair Delecke explained the process for SALU.
Chair Report
Chair Deleckesaid that the temporary sign by 5/3 Bank has been removed. Chair Delecke met with Dean from DisplayMix may have a solution.
Riley Township sent a DVD with the proposed Master Plan.
Nothing has happened for last month regarding Fritz project.
Kozy Korner sidewalk café complying with application.
Chair Delecke commented about several downtown businesses have been having sidewalk sales , blocking all or part of the sidewalk. Chair proposed the Planning Commission send letter to council, asking them to send letter to all downtown businesses.
