Marketing Director - Non-Profit (San Diego, CA)

PsychArmor Institute Overview:

A national not-for-profit that provides free education and support to bridge the civilian-military divide by ensuring that every American has the knowledge, tools and resources needed to engage effectively with service members and Veterans. We host an extensive platform of free online trainings taught by nationally recognized subject matter experts, which teach the latest trends and resources on military and Veteran issues. These courses are targeted to meet the needs of employers, healthcare providers, professionals, educators, volunteers, caregivers & families and others who support our Veterans. We provide ongoing support to civilians through our "Helping You Help Veterans" call center that offers advice, resources, and assistance to all non-military Americans, arming them with the tools they need to welcome back and reintegrate our warriors.

PsychArmor is a fast-paced organization very much on the move. Since our founding three years ago, we have quickly become a national leader in the Veteran support community. Founded by Marjorie Morrison, PsychArmor has garnered significant visibility and support under her leadership. Moving forward, the organization is seeking an experienced leader who will build and execute a comprehensive strategic marketing program that will positively impact PsychArmor’s reach and impact in the Veteran support space.

The Marketing Director will be responsible for leading all aspects of the organization’s marketing ventures to include developing and implementing strategies to strengthen the company’s market presence and help it find a “voice” that makes a difference.

The ideal candidate will be a proven marketing professional with 5+ years of experience in leading marketing efforts with passion for PsychArmor’s non-profit mission. Ability to develop innovative approaches to marketing and successfully implement them is a must. The candidate must be a skilled communicator and marketing strategist able to drive creativity and enthusiasm in others.

The goal is to enhance awareness of PsychArmor’s mission to assist those who support our nation’s Veterans while increasing the number of new learners to the digital platform.

Job Responsibilities include:

●Develop a comprehensive marketing strategy through a detailed study of key audience segments and establish aggressive campaign goals

●Implement the marketing strategy including campaigns, events, digital marketing, and PR.

●Use data and analytics to measure the effectiveness of marketing efforts - adjust plan accordingly.

●Create and implement a “Brand” strategy.

●Develop marketing materials targeted to sponsors, potential donors and learners.

●Leverage earned and paid media to increase awareness of the PsychArmor brand.

●Provide guidance to enhance website content and layout to improve the visitor’s experience

●Manage social media presence via the Social Media Specialist and direct programs to improve social media reputation and recognition.

●Coordinate closely with the company’s Partnership and Development teams; enabling them to meet their objectives by providing appropriate tools, materials and presentations

●Collaborate with the Course Development and Education teams to define needs for marketing materials.

●Monitor progress and submit performance reports

Requirements:

●Bachelor’s degree (Master’s degree preferred) in business/marketing or related field

●Proven track record of success as a Marketing Director with 5+ years of experience

●Experience in the non-profit sector preferred.

●Outstanding leadership and organizational abilities

●Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills

●Analytical and creative thinking

●Demonstrated expertise with current marketing techniques and best practices

●Experience with digital marketing forms including social media and content marketing.

●Thorough knowledge of web analytics (e.g. Google Analytics, WebTrends etc.) and Google Adwords

●Adept at building and fostering relationships with key influencers and stakeholders.
