Schrade Middle School Alumni Scholarship

The Schrade Middle School Alumni Scholarship is intended for a GISD graduating senior who attended, 6th, 7th and 8th grades, at Schrade Middle School.To encourage and support our students’ college and career goals, the faculty and staff of Schrade Middle School established the Schrade Middle School Alumni Scholarship. Staff contributed monetarily to the fund, in order to assist former Schrade students with the transition to post secondary life. The amount and number of scholarships awarded each year will be contingent on the amount of faculty and staff donations to the fund each school year. This year our scholarship total will be at least $2300.00.

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  1. Planning to pursue post-secondary education: college/university (community or 4-year), trade/career prep school.
  2. Former Schrade MS student: Completed 6th, 7th and 8th grade at Schrade.
  3. Complete scholarship application
  4. Student must be in good standing at current high school, passing all classes, involved in extracurricular activities and/or organizations on campus.
  5. Must graduate from any Garland ISD High School
  6. One page essay on how the scholarship money will help you pursue your goals.
  7. 2 letters of recommendation from your teachers, counselor, assistant principal, principal or community member.

Applications are due on or before May 1st, 2015 to either your high schoolcounselor or Schrade Middle School front office.

  2. Plan to attend a college/university (community or 4-year) or trade/career prep school the school year following your senior year.
  3. Must have attended Schrade Middle School, for 6th, 7th and 8th grades.
  4. Must be passing all classes as of the end of 4th 6-weeks.
