Key areas of responsibility

Facilities

To manage all office facilities to ensure the charity has a safe, secure and welcoming office environment which is fit for purpose. Specifically this will include:

·  Assisting the HR Adviser with any Health & Safety issues relating to the office;

·  Ensuring that the first aid boxes are fully stocked, and usage monitored;

·  Facilitating any new staff, office moves, additional storage or furniture requirements.

·  Assisting with post & franking machine enquiries;

·  Managing the security into building, including security systems, cctv, alarm, entrance doors, emergency lighting etc;

·  Ensuring the general maintenance of the office, and specifically the toilets, lift, heating & air-conditioning;

·  Liaising with the Keyholders and managing the usage of spare keys;

·  Reading electric meters monthly;

·  Arranging PAT and Fixed wire testing;

·  Ensuring Fire alarms & extinguishers are tested regularly, and that fire evacuation practices happen periodically;

·  Ensuring that photocopiers are kept in full working order;

·  Ensuring that the meeting room is always fit for purpose.

·  To cover for the IT Officer.

Other tasks

To undertake other tasks of a similar nature as required by the charity from time to time.

Education and Qualifications

§  Experience of a similar role ideally within a charity of less than 100 employees
§  High knowledge of Windows XP/7 & MS Office 2003/2007
§  Basic network knowledge of routers, switches and patching / Desirable

Details
14/21 hours per week. Start time 8am. Some weekend and evening work will be necessary when the situation arises - time off in lieu is available
25 days holidays pro rata / 2-3 days flexible
