/ Course Fees and Financial Support for Access 2016-17

Access Fees – (correct at time of going to press)

  • Full fees –- £3022 or £3113 depending on diploma
  • Reduced fees – If you are 23 or under on 4th September 2016 and do not have a full level three qualification (e.g. two full A levels or a National Diploma) - £40
  • If you are 23 or under on 4th September 2016 and have a full level three qualification (e.g. two full A levels or a National Diploma) you can apply for an Advanced Learner Loan for the Access to HE programme. Currently, this is written off once you graduate from Higher Education. This loan is not means-tested and everyone is entitled to apply.
  • If you are over 24 on 5th September 2016, regardless of previous qualifications, you can apply for an Advanced Learner Loan for the Access to HE programme. Currently, this is written off once you graduate from Higher Education. This loan is not means-tested and everyone is entitled to apply.

  • Impartial Financial Advice

It is important you consider your own circumstances and look into all options. You can access free independent financial advice from The Money Advice Service at

www.moneyadviceservice.org.uk.

  • Applying for an Advanced Learner Loan

If you decide to fund all or part of your studies with an Advanced Learner Loan:

·  Apply online to Student Finance England (SFE) or download an application form at www.gov.uk/advancedlearningloans.

·  SFE will process your application and write to you to confirm if your application has been successful.

·  Please ensure you bring your entitlement letter with you on your enrolment day.

·  SFE will pay the loan for your fee directly to your college or training organisation.

  • You can apply for the loan from 16th May when you have been offered a place on the course – even if your place is Conditional.

Financial Support Available

Learning Support Fund

All Access to HE students can apply for this as soon as you are accepted on the course. It is available on a first-come, first-served basis for help with course-related costs, particularly travel, course fees and childcare.

Please note that financial support for childcare is only available during class hours and not all students will be able to have the full cost of their childcare covered.
