CONVENTION HIGHLIGHTS

Reservations may be requested for the 2011 SBEA Convention at the Hilton through telephone reservations or by visiting the SBEA hotel link below. The block of rooms has been reserved for October 19-22, 2011. The special room rates are listed on the web site and will be available until September 22 or until the group block is sold out.

COMPUTER CERTIFICATIONS & TRAINING
New this year! Industry certification exams will be offered during the 2011 SBEA Convention. Computer sessions for convention participants will be held on Wednesday, October 19, Thursday, October 20, and Friday, October 21. Computers are furnished by Dell Corporation, and software for participants has been preloaded for training and certification testing.

OPENING GENERAL SESSION
Our opening session speaker will be Brock Patterson, a dynamic speaker with a passion for motivating educators. After hearing Mr. Patterson, you’ll come away energized and inspired!
CLOSING GENERAL SESSION AND LUNCHEON
Saturday morning will feature a brunch with the closing general session. There will also be a surprise that you won’t want to miss!
CONVENTION FEATURES
This year members are invited to register for computer certification testing and training workshops. Certification exams are scheduled for MOS 2007 and 2010. There will also be the opportunity to register for IC3 and Adobe exams. Financial Literacy Certification is scheduled, also. For those of you interested in CompTIA Network+ and Security+ certification, these industry tests are planned as well.
EXHIBITS
Vendors and textbook publishers will exhibit at the 2011 SBEA Convention in Orlando. Special vendor sessions will be held to learn about the latest products offered in the educational market.
BOXED LUNCH WITH EXHIBITORS
A boxed lunch is being offered to convention attendees on Thursday, October 20, in the exhibit area (North Ballroom).
Lunch options are listed on the registration form, and tickets will be provided in the registration packet. Please plan to enjoy lunch with the exhibitors and network with SBEA colleagues.
