Cooper were enrolled in tribe at Cooweescoowee District, Cherokee Nation. Niece Eliza S. (Cooper) Gilliam on Final Cherokee Dawes Roll No. 29383, blood 1/8.
Niece Catherine Cooper married Andrew Enoli Ross, Grandnephew of Cherokee Principal Chief John Ross (listed in E. Starr, "History of the Cherokee Indians," pg. 417). Sister Tamesia Cooper married Mills Darden abt. 1839. Darden listed in the Guiness Book of Records as one of the world's largest men. At his death on 1/23/1857 he was approx. 7'10'' tall and weighed 1080 lbs. (G. Tillman Stewart, "HendersonCounty," pg. 63).
