Before purchasing a LED screen, we’d better clear that LED screen is just a screen that shows image from video source.

Usually the led screen accept the DVI video source, some led screen system can accept the video source sent by Gigabit network card, if the video source is not DVI source, for example, DVD, TV, live camera, we need to convert the all other video source to DVI video source, usually we need a computer, video processor or other special device as convertor.

The LED screen will show any image, any language from the video source.

If the video source come from DVD, so the video format should be decoded by DVD;

If the video source come from computer, so the video can be open by your computer.

Usually the video format have nothing to do with LED screen, it have something to do with your video decode device.

The size or the resolution of the video depend on the resolution of the led screen, it is hard to show 1080P (1280x1920 pixels) video on the led screen with 160x256 pixels, certainly you’d better do not show the video with 160x256 pixels on the led screen with 512x768 pixels. Therefore the video size should be consisted with led screen.

About the resolution of the led screen, you need to confirm with your led screen supplier.

From the parameter of the product, we can also know the resolution of the led screen, for example, pitch 10mm (P10), the resolution is 10000 pixels (100 pixels x 100 pixels ) per square meter, if the screen size is 3x4m, so the resolution is 300 x 400 pixels; P6, there are 27777 (166x166) pixels per square meter, if the screen is 3x4m, so the resolution is 500 x 670 pixels.

Here we are talking about the real pixel instead of virtual pixel, someone can tell you that pitch 20mm with virtual pixels have the same video effect with p10 real pixel led screen, but I can make sure that with the same size like 3x4m, P10 real pixel led screen is much better than P20 virtual pixel led screen. The pixel is composed of red, blue and green color, for the virtual pixel led screen, one pixels share the color with another nearby pixels, so it hard to say what resolution it have, it is mixed. Most of led screen is real pixel, so we’d better do not think about the virtual pixel led screen.
