Access to Library services now online

All Trust staff can access electronic resources online via the Library’s new web pages. Visit the pages to browse our online catalogue and follow links to e-books, e-journals and a range of online evidence based resources.

Join the Library by registering online and you will be able to borrow and renew books from our stock remotely, request articles and books from other libraries and use our new “Ask the Librarian” literature searching services to help you access the latest evidence in your field.

Registering for the Library

In order to access all the services on the new website you need to register. Once you have a username and password you will be able to view your account online, borrow and renew books and request articles and searches from the Library.

If you do not have a username and password you will not be able to access these services so even if you are a member of the Library already you will need to re-register by filling in the online form or in person at the Library.

Registration is easy online simply fill in the online form and once the Library has approved your membership you will receive an email confirming your username and password.

Access to Electronic resources

The new pages bring together all our resources in one place. Search the catalogue from the homepage to browse our print and e-book collection.

Click on the HILO logo to access Athens resources including e-journals and databases.

If you don’t have an Athens account you can register online or contact the Library for help.

Click on the E-resources tab to browse and access a further range of resources including Psychiatry Online, Psychology and Behavioural Sciences Collection, the Cochrane Library and more.

Search the catalogue

Our print books are available to borrow from St Ann’s Library, you can visit the Library itself to borrow the book or if you are based at another site use the online catalogue to request the book and we can send it out to you. Once you have borrowed a book you can also renew it online.

E-books can be accessed by clicking on the “Click here to view” option. You will need your Athens username and password to access these items

Document Supply and Interlibrary loans

If you can’t find the article/book you need then please use our request an item service. Login and go to my account to find this option. Complete the form and submit your request and we will find the item you need. If you think we should have a particular item in our own stock you can also make purchase suggestions here.

Ask the Librarian

If you don’t have the time or the confidence to carry out a search for information yourself use the Ask the Librarian form to request a literature search. Submit your question and we will send you back a list of results for you to select from.
