CLM Form 04
CERTIFIED LAY MINISTER
PSYCHOLOGICAL TESTING PROCESS
Process for Registering for Psych Testing.
The DS must enter the individual in the General Board of Higher Education and Ministry system as a non-traditional candidate so that he/she can get the psych assessment task list. And yes, Form 112 is what you would fill out to request the packet but that is a task item in OCAS that you would complete as his/her mentor when he/she gets to that step. Below are the steps as they would need to be completed:
1. DS asks the candidate to enter as a valid contact in his/her EMAIL address book
2. Candidate confirms this addition
3. DS enters him/her as a non-traditional candidate in OCAS
4. Candidate receives an email invitation with instructions on how to log into the system
5. Candidate logs in and updates contact information located under the PERSONAL INFO tab
6. Candidate accesses the TASK tab
7. The first task to be completed is to submit the $20 psych assessment fee (but does NOT request a guidebook that is only for new candidates not Certified Lay Ministers)
8. The candidate completes that task and moves forward to the next item which is to print off the Release of Information, sign and date it. He/She gives that to the proctor/mentor* for inclusion in the psych assessment packet.
9. Proctor/Mentor* logs in to OCAS, accesses the candidate’s task list and submits Form 112
10. Candidate logs in to OCAS and submits their Personal Data Inventory and Reference List
11. GBHEM receives the request for the psych assessment packet and mails the packet to the proctor/mentor* and the recommendation forms to the references
12. Proctor/Mentor* receives the packet and proctors the assessment
13. GBHEM receives the completed packet, scores and mails the assessment file to the MAS/conference psychologist
14. Candidate has their assessment interview with the MAS/Conference Psychologist
*Cal-Pac uses the word “proctor” for the person who proctors the psych testing; GBHEM uses the word “mentor.” For the CLM process in Cal-Pac, a mentor is the person serving as the candidate’s guide through the full CLM process (usually the home church pastor) and rarely is also the proctor for psych testing.
