2002 – 2010 Speedy Hire Centers Assistant Depot Manager

I Started in August 2002 as an apprentice Plant Fitter.

Passed apprenticeship and moved to front of shop into customer services where I became assistant depot manager.

My role included taking hire requirements (Either on the hire desk or over the phone), testing equipment before hire, invoice and purchase order queries, addition add on sales, deliveries and collections & general house keeping.

2010 –2013Kier Plant Limited Hire Desk Controller

My role include taking hire requirements (Either on the hire desk or over the phone), dealing with paperwork from start to finish to comply with ISO90001.

I hire out Accommodation, telehandler’s and generatorsand deal with breakdowns on them throughout the hires.

Arrange for the delivery, installation, planning, plumbing and electrical connection of site set ups.

Deal with the “O” License for the Hiab vehicle and plan the driver’s runs.

Create, GRN and issue purchase orders and arrange deliveries with suppliers.

Arrange weekly paid wages for the depot Labour.

Deal with invoice and purchase order queries

The only reason for leaving Kier was they where bought out by Wernick Hire. They moved the office from Wigan where I live to Widnes and would not offer any relocation package for the travel.

  • 2012 – 2013 (3 Months) Mather and Stuart Generators - Sales Representative

My Role was to go out and find new business for the generator hire. I did find this enjoyable but unfortunately it did not work out for me at that time.

  • 2012 – 2013 (2 Months) Aerial Platforms Ltd – Hire Desk Controller

In this role it was completely new to me learning a whole new line of equipment to hire out. I really enjoyed this job and found it very interesting. This was a very fast paced place of work. I was responsible for answering phones / emails and quoting the customer the best MEWP suitable for their needs. Although I really enjoyed this role, Wernick Hire made me an offer I could not turn down.

  • 2013 – Present – Wernick Hire – Account Manager / Appointed Person

My Role within Wernick Hire is as both an account manager to Kier and AMCO rail and as an Appointed Person planning installs and dismantles and carrying out the work on site. When these roles are quiet, I will work on the hire desk to help out. In the hire desk role, I still answer phones and emails from customers and plan delivery and installs. I cover a very broad range of duties from Invoice queries to site visits and unit queries from customers.
