The Program Director will ensure that the group home is managed so that it meets COA standards of best practice, Veterans Administration licensing standards, State Fire Marshal codes, Homeless Veterans Grant and Per Diem RFP and financial goals.

Essential Functions (List the tasks, duties, and responsibilities of the position that are most important to get the job done. The responsibilities should be listed in the order of importance, with the highest priority functions first.):

  1. Be responsible for the administration of the program and the development and documentation of treatment plans for each resident and ensure compliance with the standards written in the RFP for the Homeless Veterans program and adhere to the program budget.
  2. Maintain physical facility and equipment according to LSC Policy and Procedures, Veterans Administration licensing standards and State Fire Marshal codes.
  3. Be involved in quality assurance, the CQI processes and ensure that all documentation is of the highest quality and meets the standards of LSC and the Homeless Veteran’s program model.
  4. Have knowledge of and be able to make referrals to community support systems such as the local Veterans Affairs office, Employment Office, Vocational Rehabilitation, and DSS, as a resource for residents in the program.
  5. Recruit, select, evaluate and train program staff.
  6. Represent Lutheran Services Carolinas in the community, including the local homeless coalition, Churches and support groups for the veterans in the program.
  7. Perform other duties and special projects, as requested.

The Program Director supervises the program staff, house manager, and program volunteers.

Minimum Job Requirements:

Education: Associates Degree

Experience: 2 years paid human services/supervisory experience

Specific skills/abilities: Flexibility, sensitive to varying cultural issues, ability to hold others accountable, organizational skills

Specialized knowledge, VA licensing standards, State Fire Marshal regulations for the facility, and COA standards for group living. SC employment Commission
