Salon is pretty in pink for cancer charity

A Somercotes salon has raised £500 for Breast Cancer Campaign by holding a pamper-perfect pink raffle.

Hair and Beauty at Slimming World, which is based on site at Slimming World’s head office but open to the public too, put together a collection of pink-themed prizes, including a GHD Pink Diamond styler and brush, an Elemis Beauty Heroes gift set and Jessica pink nail varnishes.

Staff have been selling tickets to clients for the past few weeks. To celebrate the final day of the raffle on Friday August 30th, hair stylists and beauty therapists wore pink and treated customers to pink champagne, cupcakes and marshmallows.

Manager Victoria Hallam says: “So many of our clients are women and we know that breast cancer touches so many people, so it’s wonderful that everyone’s got behind the raffle so brilliantly and helped us to raise such a fab amount. I think it’s been very popular because we’ve been able to offer such fantastic, sought-after prizes from the great brands we have in the salon like GHD, Elemis, Jessica, REDKEN and Mii.”
