Programme Facilitator

The Sustainability Office, University of Edinburgh

£9.60 per hour,28-35 hours per week, flexible for exceptional candidates

The Sustainability Office of the University seeks to appoint an individual to support the delivery of a range of programmes for staff and students. The successful candidate will play a leading role in expanding the Edinburgh Sustainability Awards across the University, and assist in organising a series of events for 2013. The Programme Facilitator role is 28-35 hours per week, flexible for exceptional candidates.

Background

Over the last few years the Sustainability Office has developed a range of exciting programmes to engage staff and students with sustainability related issues. The Edinburgh Sustainability Awards encourages staff and students to embed sustainable practices within everyday activities in their departments. Based on the highly successful NUS Green Impact awards, the scheme is going into its third year and is jointly run with the Edinburgh University Students’ Association (EUSA). We are looking to build on last year’s achievements and increase the number of students and staff participating in the awards, as well as raising the profile of the awards across the University.

In 2013 the Sustainability Office seeks to host a series of events relating to themes of social responsibility and sustainability. These events will be for the benefit of staff, students and the local community. This follows the successful Global Challenges event series in 2011, which brought together those teaching and researching global challenges, with those seeking to take action in the University and City of Edinburgh.
