We need your help to keep arrival and dismissal time safe and orderly for all students. Children may not arrive at school before 8:05 a.m. Supervision is not provided before 8:05 a.m.

If You Walk/Bike with Your Child to School…..

After the first two weeks of school, please say goodbye to your child when you reach the designated waiting area; called zones.(See map) Children should not arrive at school before 8:05 a.m. We need to make sure that supervising staff members can easily see students.

For the safety of all students, we ask that parents and guardians not enter the campus.

Conferences or Volunteers

  • ONLY parents, guardians, or guests who sign in at the front office may be on the ramps.
  • ONLY parents, guardians, or guests who have been designated as dividends will be allowed on the ramps.

If You Pick Up Your Child or They Walk Home from School…

  • In the afternoon, please meet students at designated areas/zones off campus.
  • There are four zones at this time. These zones may change during and after future construction.
  • Students in grades 2-5, and younger students with older siblings, are allowed to leave the campus. Kindergarten and First Grade students without parents at the zone areas will be walked back to the office at 3:10 (2:10 on Wednesday).

Walkers and Bikers Encouraged

We have many walkers and bike riders at Wekiva and we would encourage you to allow your child to walk or bike if you live close to school. We recommend that all bikes be locked. Students must wear helmets. Remind your child of bike safety rules. Crossing guards are posted at major intersections. Walkers and bikers, students only, should go directly to the designated waiting area.

Transportation Changes/Rainy Day:

  • In case of lightening, walkers and bikers will be held until it is safe to release.
  • Contact the front office before 2:30 pm (1:30 pm Wed.) to change walkers/bikers to car rider.
  • Parents CANNOT park and pick up students from the car line at dismissal. No exceptions.

Early dismissal changes in transportation must be done before 2:30 (1:30 Wednesday). Requesting after this time cannot be honored because many students are not in their regular classroom. They could be in Intervention rooms, special classes, media, labs, therapy, programs, testing… etc.

Please be patient and courteous. We appreciate your cooperation. We are working to make the procedure as efficient as possible during storms, construction, and new routes around the buildings.
