AOSE PA Meeting Minutes

Attendance: Mrs. Burek, Angelo Giambattista, Ken Purzycki, Vicki Bosie, Geraldine Kilgore, Kristin Von Schaumburg, Ms. Boccher, Kara Kelly, Pat Philipp, Jen Ferriso, Kathleen Beck, Sarah O’Brien, Julie Sabatino, Perry Neilson and Jennifer Coleman

Principal’s Report: Mrs. Burek
· Off to a great start! We have 30 new freshmen this year along with new staff members. We also welcome a new Admissions Director, Mrs. Jean Jackson.
· We will be in the process of making a new recruitment video. Sean McCourt will be shooting and producing the video for us. Exciting!
· Would like to make the AOSEPA meetings more inclusive. All are welcome!!
· Need to better communicate who the class reps are. Letter will be drafted and sent out. Class reps will also be introduced at Back to School Night.
AD Report: Ms. Erin Boccher
· Had a great start to the year so far. Really great turn outs from the girls.
· Volleyball and Soccer had some wins as well as JV Field Hockey. Varsity Field Hockey had a loss, but played a great game.
· Please refer to the NEW AOSE student athlete handbook for all sports information.
· All the incoming freshmen will participate in at least one sport this year.
· The girls are really happy!!
Presidents Report: Ken Purzycki
· Top goal is fundraising. Goal for the year is $25,000.
· Tuition raffle will be held this year. Tickets are $100 and 200 tickets will be sold. $10,000 goes to the winner to use to pay for any tuition they choose and $10,000 goes to the school. The winner will be announced at Comedy Night – 11/10.
· Communicate to parents all fundraising that will be held for the year at one time as to not bombard them with a lot of different information at different times.
· Publish monthly ledger – total transparency.
Treasurer Report – Chris Gargano
· Not given, Chris stuck in traffic. Will discuss at next meeting.
The Garden Project – Pat Phillipp and Sarah O’Brien
· Thank you!!! The project is complete and looks awesome!
· Great spot for the girls to read, eat, laugh and learn.
· Thank you to all who volunteered their time and money to support the project.
· It is ongoing and needs to be maintained, so help is always accepted.
Volunteer Coordinator Report: Geraldine Kilgore
· Sign up Genius this week for signing up for volunteer opportunities throughout the year. Please volunteer to be on a committee or volunteer to help out at an event or provide supplies or services to yearly events.
· Student Council designed T-shirts for the incoming freshmen and handed them out at a gathering prior to school. The girls loved them!
· Grillin Chillin event is Sept. 23rd. Looking for a possible donor for the hamburgers and hot dogs – new Wegmans?
· Talked about girls possibly having booths at the event.
Marketing/Merchandise Report: Kristin von Schaumburg
· Popular merch has been re-ordered.
· New clear water bottles will be available this year.
· Blow out sale at Grillin Chillin with items priced at $2, $5 and $10 to whittle down inventory of older items.
· New car stickers are on the way also.
Committee Discussion(s)
· New Parent Reception – 9/7 – Sign-up sheets available for new parents to volunteer. Event for parents only. Freshmen class reps should be introduced.
· Tuition Raffle – 9/23 thru 11/10 – President – buy one ticket first to give all families an opportunity then open up for additional ticket purchases.
· Grillin & Chillin – 9/23- Junior Class – possible students’ booths. Sign up to bring food will be same as last year. Bring your own beverages. Need to get the grill. Dunk tank ordered and will be delivered.
· Mother Daughter Tea – 10/15 – Geraldine - New menu discussed for this year. Trying to figure out the best way to do seating, suggestions welcome. Need to stick to 8 per table.
· Comedy Night – 11/10 – Angelo and Kristin – More adult focused baskets. Still have popular cork pull and wheel barrel. Trying new ideas for set up of event. New menu. Angelo working on comic.
