Changing Room School work experience at Marks and Spencer.
Welcome to M&S Truro Lemon Quay.
Every year we invite hundreds of students to try M&S on for size as part of changing room our school work experience programme. It is a great chance for you to get a taste of the working world and develop some new skills that will be useful when you finish school
The store have the following departments that you may be interested in being attached to: Womanswear, including Limited Collection, Per Una & Beauty, Childrenswear, Menswear, Homewear Lingerie, Foods, and the stylist team.

§ It would help to find out some background information about the company, if you were going to an interview or starting a new job you would most likely be expected to this – so its good practise – here are some facts to start with:

On your first day you will:
Have an induction very similar to what you would have if you actually had a job with us. This will include a fire tour and all legal and mandatory training as well as lots of other relevant things.
· Discuss your Action Plan .
· Be introduced to the general practises of the location that you will work in and meet the key employees.
· Meet some of your buddies that will have responsibility for you on a day to day basis.
· Receive a uniform, badge, locker and girovend card loaded with £15 to use in our subsidised employee restaurant while you are with us.
During the Placement you will:
· Experience different parts of the location that you are working in or concentrate on one area depending on what you have requested.
· Keep a daily log so that you have a record of what you have done – Use it at your debriefing session on your last day. If your school has asked you to complete a daily log, please bring this with you.
· Meet with your coach to ensure that the work experience is progressing well and that you are working well towards achieving your goals.
You will not be able to work on a till as you will not be an employee.
