If a customer shares their appreciation for your service, ask them if they would like to be featured on social media in celebration of Community Banking Month. Always ask for customer approval when sharing, especially if there is a visual component. Video testimonials and text testimonials alike are great indicators of why it’s great to bank locally with a community bank.

Throughout the month of April, feature employees on each social media channel—whether it’s changing out your Facebook cover photo, posting a tweet with a picture of the employee or featuring a short video about the employee. Share about why employees (and more importantly people) are the heart of community banking.

Honor your customers! Host a “Customer Appreciation Day” in celebration of Community Banking Month. Highlight the uniqueness of your community bank with local food items and goodies or feature local small businesses to attend the event and share about their businesses.
