Attendance and Make up Work:

Students are expected to attend school daily. If you are absent, it is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to get your work by checking Attendance with your peers, reviewing another student’s table of contents, checking the blog, and/or checking with me before or after class. Do NOT interrupt instruction to ask about your missing work.

Classroom Rules:

Be respectful. This is an all-encompassing rule that I firmly believe is a great standard not just for our classroom, but life in general. Be respectful to yourself, your peers, your teachers, your environment, and everyone you encounter in life and you will be well in compliance with classroom rules.

In addition, students also need to follow all rules and guidelines discussed in the Kennesaw Mountain High School Student Handbook.

Consequences:

1st Offense- Verbal Warning

2nd Offense- Appropriate disciplinary action at teacher’s discretion

Missed Tests and Quizzes:

Students absent on the day of a scheduled Test or Quiz must schedule a time with the teacher to make up the test outside of instructional time.

Latework:

The grade for all work submitted after the date it is due will be reduced by a percentage of points per day, at the discretion of the instructor.

Tutorials:

Tutoring sessions are offered Monday and Wed. mornings from 7:30 – 8:20 a.m. Students should sign up for tutoring at least 24 hours in advance. Other tutoring times may be arranged with the teacher given sufficient notice.

Tardies:

It is expected that you come to class everyday on time. To be considered on time students must be in their seats and ready for class to start when the bell rings. I will follow the school tardy policy which can be found in the student handbook. The door to the class will be closed when the tardy bell rings. Students are REQUIRED to have a pass to enter class after the tardy bell rings. Consequences for repeated tardies are explained in the agenda.

  • Copying another student’s work
  • This includes lab data, lab reports, homework, test answers, essays, reports, etc.

  • Using unauthorized materials such as websites, cheat sheets, cell phones, Spark Notes, etc. not specifically approved by the teacher beforehand
  • Completing or making a significant contribution to someone else’s assignment or allowing someone else to complete or make a significant contribution to an assignment for you
  • Providing false information to a teacher or administrator during an inquiry related to academic integrity
  • Plagiarism, which includes the following:
