TOWN OF CEDAR BLUFF COUNCIL MEETING
TUESDAY, AUGUST 30, 2016 AT 12:00 NOON
The Town Council of the Town of Cedar Bluff, County of Cherokee, State of Alabama, met in Special Called Session in the Council Room at Town Hall, 3420 Martha Vera Lane, Cedar Bluff, Alabama on Monday, August 30, 2016 at 12:00 noon, pursuant to notice duly posted as prescribed by law. Mayor Tammy Crane presided and called the meeting to order. Members in attendance were as follows:

After stating the purpose of the meeting was to canvass the Municipal General Election held on August 23, 2016, Mayor Tammy Crane stated Resolution 2016-13 needed to be approved. The Resolution is as follows:
RESOLUTION NO. 2016-13
RESOLUTION CANVASSING RESULTS
OF AUGUST 23, 2016 GENERAL ELECTION
WHEREAS, the General Election for the Town of Cedar Bluff, Alabama, was duly and legally held on August 23, 2016, as provided by law; and
WHEREAS, the municipal governing body of the Town of Cedar Bluff met on this the 30th day of August, 2016, at 12:00 noon, a quorum thereof being present, and canvassed the returns and has ascertained and determined the number of votes received by each candidate; and
WHEREAS, the municipal governing body has ascertained and determined the result of said election as follows:
District 1
Joshua Crump Lorrie Green
Total Vote: 42 Total Vote: 52
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Town Council of the Town of Cedar Bluff as follows:
1. That Lorrie Green received a majority of the votes cast for the office of Council Member
District 1 on the Town Council and is declared duly elected to said office for the term of office beginning on the first Monday in November, 2016.
2. That the Mayor of the Town of Cedar Bluff be and she is hereby directed to issue a Certificate of Election to Lorrie Green for the office of Council Member District 1 on the Town Council for such term pursuant to the provisions of section 11-46-55, of the Code of Alabama, 1975, as amended.

Councilmember Norman Burton made the motion to approve Resolution 2016-13 and Councilmember Donald Sanders seconded the motion.

There being no other business, Councilmember Norman Burton made the motion to adjourn and Councilmember Leatha Harp seconded the motion.
