MINUTES

CORRECTIONS:Dan Katze –

Page 2, New Business Display Tables, Line 2 states “A Bottle Rocket display from Denver (Heartland Council)” should be “A Bottle Rocket display from Denver (Mt. Range Council)

Page 2, Motion states: “A motion was made by Patty Bodwell to appoint BOB BURNHAM as President of Heartland Council for the year 2008. The motion was seconded by Paul Perez. Motion carried.

A Vice President for Heartland will be appointed at a later date.”

Paragraphs were corrected as follows: “A motion was made by Patty Bodwell to appoint BOB BURNHAM as President of Mountain Range Council for the year 2008. The motion was seconded by Paul Perez. Motion carried.

A Vice President for Mountain Range Council will be appointed at a later date.”

A motion was made to accept the minutes as corrected by Joe Bonauito and seconded by Debbie Grady.

Motion carried.

FINANCIAL

Gil Mothershed – The Chapter financial report for the end-of-year, 2007 is $6873.67

A motion was made to accept the financial report until audited by Patty Bodwell and seconded by Joe Bonaiuto. Motion carried.

A request was made by Erin Smith, PAC Coordinator, for a list of Chapter Leaders requiring financial reports. The list should indicate the method to send each report. All call attendees requested to have the reports emailed monthly.

Gil will send the list to Erinindicating all but Tony Virgilio, Bay Area Club Treasurer, will receive the report by email. Tony, having no email access, will require US Mail delivery.

Highlights and Media Mentions

Steve Miller – The latest issue of the Heartland Council newsletter is on the New Outlook Pioneers Website. This issue highlights Jery Golmanavich and his great successes with Project Connect.

Going forward, the Heartland Council newsletter will be published quarterly. You can download the publication from the “net”, receive it via email by providing Steve with your email address or send Steve the $5.00 annual fee for the newsletter to be mailed.

Bob Burnham – Mountain Range Council participates in the Rocket Shoot in Denver. The next shoot is scheduled for May 9th. Location and details will be announced at a later date.

Patty Bodwell - Will take rockets to the Annual Meeting in Austin for display in the Exhibition Hall.

Sherry Lynn Riddle – The Bay Area WEAL Club’s newsletter will be published quarterly rather than bi-annually. It can also be found on the New Outlook Pioneers website.

Membership

Sherry Lynn Riddle – My new job with Rackable Systems has given me the opportunity to recruit new members into pioneering. Management is in favor of my speaking with employees and getting them to volunteer their time.

Steve Miller – We are pushing hard to meet the goal of 15 new members this year.

Bob Burnham – By using the Wells Fargo recruiting event, we should get new members. Wells Fargo wants to join us in recruiting members from within their employee base.

Dan Katze –This year’s goal will remain 20 new members per chapter. I still encourage all Leaders to push for better numbers than we had last year.

Participation

Steve Miller – Omaha (Heartland Council) reported 2361 hours for January, 2008. Our “big hitters” were Hug-A-Bears, Electronic Maps, a blood drive and Drivers for the blind.

Other councils reported problems accessing the PALS system. At the Annual Meeting, we will contact Carissa Pavlica, Headquarters Staff for answers to our problems.

Awards -----

Western Horizon Council, Bay Area Club

Kay Virgilio is a finalist for her work on the IHAP Project.

Jery Golmanavich is a finalist for his work on Project Connect.

Annual Meeting

Helen Loyd – We will have three (3) booths per Dan. The Infant Hearing (IHAP) equipment will not be there but they are sending writing pins instead. We will also have the Harry and David gift basket to raffle and Beanie Bears (Hug-a-Bears with a nap sack).

Dan Katze – Our assigned booths are numbers 17, 18 and 20. Since the booths were pre-assigned, he was unable to secure booth # 19.

ROUND TABLE

Dan Katze – Asked if there are any questions re: dress code, locations and/or time commitments. Paul Perez requested an agenda detailing calendar events. Dan agreed.

Dan Katze – Re: PAC update – The move is happening quickly. The plan is to be completely moved by end of May. There is a new PAC Accounting Manager in place – Debi Althoff. She is new to Pioneering but not to Accounting. Please assist Debi and her staff in her new position.

There is no information on the FinancialCenter. We will ask at the Annual Meeting if they will also relocate.

If any Council or Club would like Dan to attend their activity or meeting, contact him ASAP. Dan will commit on a “first come, first served” basis.

Next conference call is April 16th at8AM. Pacific Time, Mountain 9:00AM, Heartland 10:00AM.
