Aims:Provide an insight into the Police Service, looking at the purpose, range of jobs available, recruitment and selection and also career development opportunities.
Learning Outcomes:
All students will be able to:
1. List some activities that the Police service perform.
2.Participate in a variety of aptitude tests
3. Explain why the police use certain skills in the recruitment process
Some will be able to: Analyse why police need certain skills from potential recruits
A few will be able to: Complete practice PIRT (Police Initial Recruitment Test) and also training section in Work booklet. / Support Issues / ESW Present?Y/N

Explain the aims and objectives of today’s session to the group.
Explanation of aptitude tests with demonstrations of each task.
Facilitation of aptitude tests and rotate round classroom to each group.
Facilitate Q&A session on Why police would use these skills in the selection process
Give out PIRT and explain task to students
Round up session / Students will be responding to their name when called. Students will be required to start work by getting any paper and pens they need.
Listen and watch demonstration by tutor. Ask questions for clarification.
Participate and record results of aptitude tests.
Listening and answer questions and respond when required.
Students will be completing the sample PIRT and extracting information to complete their work booklet / EX
