Declaration of Participation

During registration each contestant must declare which pageant they are entering, either Miss Texas FFI or Miss Texas at Large FFI. Contestants will NOT be placed into two groups. (Miss Texas FFI and Miss Texas at Large FFI).

If a contestant wins an AT-Large Prelim, that contestant MUST compete in the At-Large category.

If a contestant wins a prelim that is not specified, such as Miss Texas Panhandle FFI or Miss Wichita Falls FFI, then they will declare their category at the state pageant.

Drawing of Contestant Numbers

Contestants will PERSONALLY draw their OWN number. Keep in mind that both size categories will be mixed in together. Contestant #1 could be a regular competitor. Contestant #2 and #3 could be At Large competitors. Remember, contestants are not competing against others. We are not comparing contestants to others, in other words, there is not comparative judging as in the USofA system. Contestants are competing against themselves for points in each subcategory. Contestant position should not be of any importance whatsoever. We will not draw again for final night placements. Contestants will keep their order as during preliminary competition.
