NOTE CHANGE OF USUAL START TIME DUE TO TIDE LEVELS

REGISTRATION in 2015 will be at Willowburn Sports Centre Alnwick on Sat 18th July between 12.30 & 14:00 & at Beadnell Boathouse near the start on Sun 19th July from 08.00am. For safety purposes details of entrant must be completed on back of number. Remember NO CHIP = NO TIME

PARKING AT ALNMOUTH.

Owing to the limited parking space and race day congestion in Alnmouth village, race competitors and supporters are asked to park at Alnmouth Football Club and Hipsburn First School (about 1 mile outside the village near Hipsburn roundabout). Parking charge will be made. Recommended parking is a 15 – 20 minute walk to the beach where the race finishes.

TRANSPORT TO START. Buses will leave Hipsburn First School from 07.30am onwards, last bus 09:15. You will not receive an email ticket to show you have paid this year; your name will be taken before boarding bus. No paying on the day. The school toilets will be open for your convenience. Please don’t jeopardise our event by ignoring this facility.

CLUB BUSES. Beach parking for buses at Alnmouth is scarce. If the beach parking spaces are full, please ask your driver to park at Willowburn Sports Centre (in Alnwick) and arrange a time for him/her to return to pick you up. A free baggage bus is available to bring competitors’ bags from Beadnell to Alnmouth. Please use our baggage bus as it is the only bus that is guaranteed access to the beach after the race.

PARKING AT BEADNELL. Club buses should drop runners at the edge of Beadnell village as the roads are narrow and opportunities to turn safely are limited. The race assembly area is at the Harbour car park - about a 5 minute walk. Beadnell car parks are Pay and Display. No additional parking will be available this year at the start.

BAGGAGE BUS. The baggage bus will leave Beadnell Harbour Car Park at 10.30am. Please use it as it is the only bus that is guaranteed access to the beach after the race and attach an identity label for any unclaimed luggage. Left luggage will be at the Red Lion pub after 2.30pm.

TOILETS AT BEADNELL. Please respect villagers and others by using the toilet facilities provided in the harbour car park (Portaloos and permanent toilets). You will need 1 x 20p coin for the permanent toilets.

CHIPS are non returnable.

T-SHIRTS. Collect your T-shirt at the finish. Please show you number.

REFRESHMENTS. There will be water at Low Newton, Craster (Plastic Cups only), Boulmer and the finish. Alnmouth has lots of cafes, pubs and shops. Please discard of bottles and cups appropriately

Beadnell: High water 06.05

Alnmouth: Low water 12.25

RESULTS/PRESENTATION. Times will be given up to 2.5 hours. Presentation about 1.45pm at the Red Lion. We aim to post full results by 10pm on race day on www.alnwickharriers.co.uk.

MILE MARKERS. The nature of our event means that we cannot use mile markers but, in response to feedback, we will have a sign

marking the approximate half-way point at Craster and another to let you know

when you have about 2 miles left to run.

Back Marker. For the safety of the last runners, a Back Marker will follow the Race at 2.5 hr pace. It is important that any runners wishing to drop out before the finish should tell a marshall.
