INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC NEWS

This year’s Spring Recital will be held on Thursday, April 11, 2013 at Northeast Academy at

6:30 p.m. in the cafetorium. This concert will feature 2nd and 3rd year musicians from Northeast Academy and Pleasant Valley. There will also be an in-school performance on April 11th from 10:00-11:00 at Pleasant Valley. It is going to be a very exciting concert! In order to prepare for this concert there will be 1 in-school rehearsal and 1 afterschool rehearsal. Parents will need to provide transportation to the afterschool rehearsal. These 2 rehearsals will be the only time all of the schools will be able to practice together, so attendance at all rehearsals is critical. The rehearsal schedule for this concert will be:

Wednesday, 4/3/13 3:45pm-6:00pm Band- NEA, Orchestra- PV

Thursday, 4/4/13 9:45am-12:00p.m. Band- PV, Orchestra-NEA

We look forward to seeing you on April 11th for a great night of music!

-Mr. Murphy and Mrs. Stevenson

You can attend this event at Northeast Academy from 4:30-5:30 p.m. (time has changed) or at the Groton Public Library, Room 1 from 7:00-8:00 p.m. The subject book is “Boys Adrift: the Five Factors Driving the Growing Epidemic of Unmotivated Boys and Underachieving Young Men” by Leonard Sax, M.D.

MATH & SCIENCE DAY REQUEST

Dear Parents of Kindergartners , 1st and 2nd. graders,

If you are able to drop off / send in empty water bottles (regular 16.9oz) to the school between now and April 25, 2013 we would really appreciate it. We will be working with the children on learning about vortexes and making water bottle tornadoes for Math & Science Day. We would like to give each of the children who participates the chance to take home a kit to be able to share their learning with you. Having the bottles to place into the kits would be nice for those children who do not have access to those at home. We are in need of 500 empty water bottles. Please start dropping them off as soon as possible. Thank you for your help!
