LOCOMOTIVES – Speed and load categories
Background
There are currently 52 nominated codes of locomotives operating over the New South Wales Rail system. To accommodate this listing throughout the Train Operating Conditions Manual locomotives have been grouped into Speed (S) and Load (L) categories.
The Speed and Load categories are separate. This information is indicated in Section 10, General Instructions, Locomotives and Rolling Stock and a summary table is included in Section 2, General Instructions, Locomotive Operations.
